The skin is the largest organ of the body, and its primary function is protection. At Scent From Natchez, we believe in protecting ours—naturally.

Our family’s soapmaking tradition dates back to the 1800s. The matriarch of our line, who descended from the West Coast of Africa, carried this craft through generations. Renza’s grandmother, Mama Harriet, passed down the tradition of making soap for the community, a skill Renza began learning at just 10 years old. For her, it was more than a task—it was an essential family project and a way of preserving heritage. She, in turn, taught her children, ensuring that this practice endured as both necessity and legacy.

My own soapmaking journey began when my children, Jadtrl and Austin, developed eczema. My mom and I returned to this tradition, creating gentle, natural soaps just for them. Today, eczema is an issue of the past, and both of my children enjoy radiant, healthy skin.

We celebrate inclusion and diversity, ensuring our products and messages reflect the needs and desires of all our customers. Our mission is simple: to create the highest-quality skincare bars from wholesome, sustainable ingredients, giving every customer the confidence that comes with clear, healthy skin.

Because each bar is handmade, no two look exactly alike—that’s the beauty of small-batch craftsmanship. To extend the life of your soap, we recommend using a draining soap dish between washes.
